About Mahoning Drive-in
The Mahoning Drive-in is a single screen drive-in theater located in Lehighton, PA. The Mahoning Drive-in has been around since 1948. They have the state's largest screen at 120' wide. They are open seasonally April thru September and show double features. The Mahoning Drive-in is not yet digital, so they do not show new releases but instead show older, fan favorites that are in 35mm. They also allow camping at the drive-in on Friday and Saturday nights for an additional $10 per car. Movie audio is broadcast over 89.3 FM. Pets are allowed as long as they are leashed, well behaved and cleaned up after. The Mahoning Drive-in does not allow outside food and drink but has plenty of great concession options. Currently, pricing is $10 per person with kids 4 and under free. In July of 2021, the Mahoning Drive-in became aware that the owner of the land they lease for the drive-in agreed to lease the land to a solar farm which planned to demolish the drive-in. A zoning variance had to be approved for this to happen. The Mahoning Drive-in asked the community for help in stopping these plans. After a huge show of support from the community, the plan was ditched and the Mahoning Drive-in was saved once again.
