About Van Buren Drive-in

The Van Buren Drive-in is currently a single screen drive-in located in Pomfret, New York which is in the western part of New York about an hour outside of Buffalo, NY. The Van Buren Drive-in opened in October of 2021. However, the drive-in was actually built on the site of the old Van Buren Drive-in which was originally opened in 1949. It operated until it was closed in 1991. The screen and concessions building remained standing until a severe storm destroyed them in 2011. The property sat unused until new owners purchased the property in 2021 and presented plans for approval to the local zoning commission that outlines a new three screen drive-in movie theater with a new restaurant as well as plans for an arcade and a stage so the drive-in can be used for concerts, weddings and other events. In addition, plans call for the third screen of the drive-in to be built for RVs with full connections so RVs can watch movies and stay overnight. Even though the new owners want it to be a three screen drive-in eventually, they are opening with 1 screen and will hopefully be able to add the other two later. Current admission prices are $10 for adults, $8 for kids with lids 3 and under free. Movie audio is broadcast over 99.7 FM.
