About Hilltop Drive-in

The Hilltop Drive-in is a single screen drive-in theater located in Chester, West Virginia. It was opened by Chuck Pittenger who constructed the drive-in and ran it for the next 10 years. It went dark in 1984 for 5 years when a former projectionist purchased and re-opened the drive-in. In 2024, the Pittenger family purchased the drive-in from Katie Beaver, bringing ownership back to the founder's family (Chuck's son, Roy Pittenger, and granddaughter, Hannah Barnes). The Hilltop Drive-in is open seasonally from April thru October and screens double features 7 nights a week during peak season and weekends only during Spring and Fall. Pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and well behaved. At this time, he Hilltop Drive-in only accepts cash at the admission gate, so ensure you have enough to get in. They do accept credit and debit cards at the concession stand. Current admission is $8.50 for adults, $3.50 for kids, $5 for Seniors and active military personel get in for free with military ID. Movie audio is broadcast over 87.9 FM.
