About Hi-Way 50 Drive-in
** Update - On April 29, 2022, the Hi-Way 50 Drive-in announced on their Facebook page that they would not open for the 2022 season. No reason was given and no plans for re-opening were outlined. So we are moving the Hi-Way 50 Drive-in to "Closed" status. There was some discussion in the community that someone had purchased the drive-in and would re-open it. However, as of July of 2022 it is still closed with no announcements about re-opening. If something changes, we will update this page. **
The Hi-Way 50 Drive-in is a single screen drive-in movie theater located in Lewisburg, TN which is about 1 hour south of Nashville, TN. Tennessee's oldest operating drive-in, the Hi-Way 50 Drive-in was opened on 1946. The Hi-way 50 Drive-in was purchased by new owners in 2014 and they have undertaken extensive renovations of the facilities as well as repairing and repainting the large screen. They also converted the facility from 35mm to digital. Interestingly, in 2018, musician Kid Rock shot a full length music video at the Hi-Way 50 Drive-in. The Hi-Way 50 Drive-in is open seasonally from Spring through Fall. Current admission is $7 for Adults and $5 for kids. Movie audio is provided by FM Radio. Outside food and drink are only allowed with the purchase of a 6 food permit. Pets are allowed at the Hi-Way 50 Drive-in as long as they are leashed, well behaved and cleaned up after.
