About Weirs Drive-in
The Weirs Drive-in, located in Laconia, NH, is the largest of New Hampshire's remaining drive-ins. The Weirs Drive-in is 4 screen drive-in that has been around since 1949. It is large with a 1000 car capacity. The Weirs Drive-in is very popular which is attributable, in large part, to its great location as it is situated opposite Lake Winnipesaukee which is about 45 minutes northeast of Concord. In September of 2017, the owner of the Weirs Drive-in announced she had sold the Weirs Drive-in to a developer who was going to close it and raze it to make room for condominiums. The owner said the Weirs Drive-in was closed for good. However, in early 2018, the owner announced that the sale had been delayed and was possibly dead due to some contract disputes. In May of 2018, the Drive-in did re-open and plans to remain open unless another buyer comes forward. So it seems the drive-in has been saved for now. Current admission is $30 per carload up to 4 people, with each additional person being $5.
