About Bengies Drive-in
Originally opened in 1956 during the heyday of American drive-ins, Bengies Drive-in has managed to remain open all these years. The state of Maryland has recognized Bengies as one of its official state treasures and it is the last drive-in still operating in Maryland. It has the largest screen of any remaining drive-in in the United States at 120' wide and 52' high and has a capacity for 750 cars. Open seasonally April thru October, Bengies generally shows double features but some weekend nights shows triple features. Cash only is accepted at the box office so make sure to bring some greenbacks. And if you want to bring outside food or drink, you must purchase a food permit for $10 a car at the box office. Bengies does allow pets but only if they are leashed at all times while they are outside of the vehicle and you must clean up after them. Bengies actually has a lot of house rules about where certain vehicles can park, restrictions with the food permit, etc..., so it is advisable that you visit their website and read all the rules before you arrive.
