About River Drive-in Movie Theater

The River Drive-in Movie Theater is a PROPOSED twin screen drive-in movie theater located in Wethersfield, CT which is located about a 10 minute drive south of Hartford, CT. The drive-in is being opened in the parking lot of a restaurant named 'River: A Waterfront Restaurant & Bar'. The restaurant is located on the Connecticut River. The River Drive-in will have two screens back to back and they plan on showing movies year round. They plan to show first run movies as well as show classic movies and have music concerts at the drive-in. You will be able to order food from the restaurant or the onsite concession area. They had hoped to be open in the Fall of 2021. However, since making this announcement in August of 2021, they have not had any updates on their website or Facebook page about the opening of this drive-in. It does not appear any construction has occurred and this drive-in may never make it out of the planning stage.
