About Roanoke Drive-in
After years of decline, the opening of the Roanoke in 1996 had marked the onset of an upward trend for Alabama drive-ins. Initially there were quite a few rough spots here, but subsequently, and under new management, it has became a real gem of a drive-in and might have provided the inspiration for imaginative souls who dream of participating in the Drive-in revival. However, the Roanoke Drive-in suffered severe storm damage it 2006 which caused it to close. The storm took out the screen and part of the concession building. It was demolished after closure.
