About Valley Brook Drive-in
The Valley Brook Drive-in is a single screen drive-in located in Lyons Falls, NY on the western edge of the Adirondack State Park. One of the last of a certain breed - hundreds like it in smallish towns and rural stretches across America remain only as skeletons 0r less. The Valley Brook has remained in continuous operation, seasonally, for more than 60 years (and through 3 generations within the same family), since the picture show first opened back in 1952. The Drive-in has a capacity for up to 400 cars and its 64' wide screen is lit with a double feature, on Weekends only (Friday - Sunday), from May thru Labor Day weekend. Audio for the movies is being provided with a dual-band radio broadcast: on AM (600) as a courtesy to vintage car enthusiasts, and 88.9 FM for modern cars. And also true to its traditions and nodding to the nostalgia-minded, some of the original window speakers have been kept in service and are available for about 25% of the parking spaces. Ticket prices are also behind the times here. Apart from the fact that unlike the Multiplex Cinemas which contributed to the overall decline of outdoor theatres, each ticket here includes a DOUBLE-feature presentation. That aside, Valley Brook also features THE most reasonable ticket prices of any Drive-in operating in New York state. Admission: $7 for adults (ages 12&up); only $2 for Children (ages 7-11); and free admission for Kids of ages 6 and under (all well behaved four-legged Kids are free and welcome here as well). Be aware, the Valley Brook Drive-in is currently cash only and they do not accept credit or debit cards.
