About Sunset Drive-in
The Sunset Drive-in was a single screen drive-in movie theater located in Shelby, North Corolina. The Sunset Drive-in was opened in 1955 and had a car capacity of about 300 cars. It was open seasonally, weekends only, April thru October. Pets were not allowed but they did allow you to bring in outside food and drink as long as you clean up your mess. Also, the Sunset Drive-in only accepted cash and therewas no ATM on site. In March of 2023, the owners of the Sunset Drive-in posted on the drive-in's Facebook page that it was time for their dad to retire and they were closing the drive-in. The drive-in's website is now gone so we have moved this drive-in to closed. It still stands as so there is a chance someone else can step in to operate it,
