About Motor-Vu Drive-in
The Motor Vu Drive-in is a single screen drive-in theater located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It originally opened in 1947 and operated until it was closed in June of 2017 as the owner at the time could not afford to upgrade to a digital projector. When he closed the drive-in, he said he had no plans to re-open it and it appeared the Motor Vu would be closed permanently. But in late 2019, new owners bought the drive-in and updated it. In the Spring of 2020, the new owners announced they would in fact re-open the drive-in the summer of 2020 and in fact, the opening date of the drive-in was Saturday, May 16, 2020. So after three years of sitting dark, The Motor-Vu was brought back to life. The Motor-Vu Drive-in is open seasonally, May thru September. It has FM broadcasting for the sound. It had a sister drive-in (the Sky-Vu Drive-in) located just 4 miles across town which was owned by the same owners. However, the Sky-Vu Drive-in was closed at the end of the 2015 season leaving the Motor-Vu Drive-in the last one standing. They allow dogs as long as they are leashed and cleaned up after. They also have online ticket sales from their website.
