About Silver Moon Drive-in
The Silver Moon Drive-in is a twin screen drive-in movie theater located in Lakeland, Florida which is about half way between Tampa and Orlando. In continuous operation since 1958, the Silver Moon Drive-in is open throughout the year with 2 screens showing double features. Originally opened as a single screen drive-in theater, a second screen was added in 1985. And sometimes they will re-screen the first movie for a total of three movies if you want to stay up late. The Silver Moon Drive-in uses FM radio to broadcast movie audio, but they still have some of the old time speaker poles in some rows if you want to experience some nostalgia. If planning to attend on the weekends, get there early it will fill up and you will be turned away. This drive-in is a bargain for the lost admission of $7 for adults, $3 for kids 5 and over and free for kids 4 and under. As with many Florida drive-ins, the Silver Moon also operates a swap shop on site on Saturdays and Sundays starting early in the morning.
