About Comanche Drive-in
The Comanche Drive-in is a single screen drive-in movie theater located in Buena Vista, Colorado. The drive-in is located at 8000' elevation making it the highest elevation drive-in in the United States with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The Comanche Drive-in, when opened in 1966, was very rural and in the middle of beautiful pastures. Since then, homes and developments have crept up all around it, but the beautiful view of the mountains still remains. They are open seasonally (generally Memorial Day through Labor Day), 5 days a week. But their schedule for opening and closing as well as the nights movies are played does change so please check their website for up to date information. The Comanche does accept credit cards, but they cash and do charge an additional credit card fee when they are used. They just switched to digital 4k projection in August of 2018 and are now showing first run movies once again.
