About The Globe Drive-in Theater
The Globe Drive-in is an intimate 30 car drive-in theater located in Pflugerville, Texas which is about 30 minutes northeast of Austin, Texas. The Globe Drive-in is a single screen drive-in which was just opened in January of 2020. It was originally opened at the Brushy Creek Amphitheater in Hutto, Texas. However, the city of Hutto closed the Brushy Creek Amphitheater due to Covid-19 concerns in the summer of 2020 so The Globe Drive-in relocated to their current location. They show second-run cult classics and family favorite movies. On their opening weekend, they showed 'Back to The Future' and "The Princess Bride'. They have concessions on site but also allow outside food and drink to be brought in. You can buy tickets online. They charge $10 for a 'car spot' as well as an additional $5 for each person in the car for each movie. So if you have a family of four and you are planning on attending a double feature, you must purchase a $10 car slot plus pay $10 for each of your four family members ($5 for each person for each of the two movies). It is important to note that The Globe Drive-in uses an inflatable pop screen for their movies. Normally we do not list what we consider to be portable drive-ins. However, they have a permanent location, an easy to use website and will show movies weekly so we decided to include them.
