About Town and Country Drive-in
On October 12 2022, the Town and Country Drive-in reported on their Facebook page: "Unfortunately this weekend some vandals broke into the drive in and destroyed the projectors and some other equipment. We are in the process of trying to acquire replacrments, but will be closed until further notice." They have been closed since then.
When the Town and Country Drive-in opened with Guys and Dolls in 1956, it was reported that $250,000 had been spent on its construction and it was promoted as the largest drive-in in Texas. But it was closed in 1981. It remained closed for almost 20 years but then was purchased by new owners who reopened it in 2000.
