About 99W Drive-in
The 99W Drive-in is a solo screen drive-in that has been operating since opening in 1953. They screen double features seasonally on the weekends only. They charge $9 per adult, $5 for kids between 6-11 with kids 5 and under being free. But note that if you are by yourself, they charge $14 for a car with only 1 person. The 99W was built by Ted Francis and has remained in the same family as it is now operated by his grandson. Until his death in 1999, Ted Francis was known as the country's oldest drive-in operator at 98 years old. In 2013, the 99W Drive-in received a digital projector from Honda Drive-in initiative which was a project by Honda to award digital projectors to a select few drive-ins to bring them into the digital age. In 2014 the 99W Drive-in was added to the National Register of Historical Places. And in 2016, the 99W Drive-in was voted the Best Drive-in in the U.S. by an online poll conducted by www.10Best.com.
