About Sandhills Drive-in
The Sandhills Drive-in is a single screen drive-in movie theater located in Alliance, Nebraska. A relative newcomer to the drive-in scene, the Sandhills Drive-in was opened in 1994. The Sandhills normally operates seasonally from around June thru September but did not open in 2017 or 2018. The GEJU Theater Group announced the Sandhills would not open in 2018. The Sandhills Drive-in was purchased by new owners in 2019 and they did re-open the drive-in in towards the end of September 2019. However, since re-opening in 2019 and as of this time (August 2021) they are only showing second run movies and not new releases. However, the owners have said they plan to start showing first run releases again when the drive-in opens in the Spring for the 2022 season. Currently, adimission prices are $5 per person or $20 a carload for 4 people or more. Pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and well behaved. The Sandhills Drive-in provides movie audio through FM transmission but they are also one of the few drive-ins that still have the old in car speakers that most people think of when they think of traditional drive-in movie theaters.
