About Franklin Drive-in
The Franklin Drive-in was a single screen drive-in theater located in Franklin, KY which is in the southern part of Kentucky not far from the Tennessee border. The Franklin Drive-in was established in the later years of America's drive-in boom in 1969. Even though the drive-in was in Kentucky, it was practically a Tennessee drive-in as it was only a few miles from the Tennessee border and less than an hour's drive from Nashville, TN. It was well maintained and skept a couple of rows of the traditional pole speakers although it did provide sound via FM radio. They were open seasonally March thru October. But on February 6th, 2023, the Franklin Drive-in announced on its Facebook page that the drive-in had been sold and would not remain a drive-in. A development company bought the drive-in and rumor is that apartments are to be built on the location.
