About Valle Drive-in Theater
The Valle Drive-in Theater is a single screen drive-in theater located in Newton, Iowa which is located about a 30 minute drive outside of Des Moines, Iowa. The oldest of Iowa's remaining drive-ins, the Valle Drive-in was opened way back in 1948. It has had four sets of owners through the years but has been run by the current owners since 1976. It is open seasonally and runs double features on nights when it is open. The Valle Drive-in is one of the few drive-ins that expressly allows alcohol to be brought onto the premises. Almost all drive-ins prohibit alcohol, but most generally look the other way. The Valle Drive-in is also one of the few remaining drive-ins to allow you to bring your dog, as long as they remain on a leash while outside the car. While they broadcast movie audio on 88.7 FM channel, they also still have the traditional drive-in speakers in the first 4 rows only. Current admission at the Valle Drive-in is a very reasonable price of $8 for adults and $5 for kids for two movies at their double features.
