About Smith's Ranch Drive-in
The Smith's Ranch Drive-in is a single screen drive-in theater located in Twentynine Palms, California which is located just outside of Joshua Tree National Park. It was opened way back in 1954 and is open year round although they only show movies on the weekends during the winter or off-season. The drive-in is a great bargain at $5 admission for a double feature with kids under 3 being free. But they only accept cash at the box office but they do accept credit cards at the concession stand. Current admission is $10 for a double feature with kids 4 and under being free. In March of 2020, the Smith's Ranch Drive-in was forced to close for Covid restrictions. According to their Facebook page, they encountered problems with the local city when trying to re-open as the city was requiring renovation and improvements to their facilities before allowing them to re-open. After being closed for over two years, Smith's Ranch Drive-in was finally able to re-open in July of 2022.
