About Moonlite Drive-in

One of the oldest drive-ins in Virginia, the Moonlite Drive-in was closed in 2013 and almost torn down. However, a long time fan of the Moonlite partnered with the Moonlite's owner in 2013 and the two agreed to renovate and re-open the Moonlite. They did some repairs and improvements and showed a few films on the old 35mm equipment in 2016. However, during late 2016 or early 2017, the agreement between the two soured and the owner allegedly pulled out of the agreement to re-open the Moonlite. As of late 2017, the Moonlite is once again closed as the deal to re-open it fell through. As far as we know, there are no plans to re-open the Moonlite Drive-in at this point so we are changing its status to permanently closed. If the Moonlite re-opens, we will update its status. But at this point, it appears we have lost this gem of a drive-in.
