About Ruskin Drive-in Theater
The Ruskin Family Drive-in is a single screen drive-in theater located in Ruskin, Florida. It is common to see grandparents returning to the Ruskin Family Drive-in with their grandchildren. Regulars come early to make sure they get their usual spot in front of the 60' wide screen which has remained lit since 1952. The Ruskin Family Drive-in was one of the very first drive-ins to install a local radio broadcast system to replace the traditional window speakers. They did this in 1971 but still have the traditional speakers available. They bill themselves as "The Last Family Drive-in". The Ruskin Family Drive-in is open throughout the year and is located between Tampa and Brandon. It is family oriented and they do not show R rated movies or allow alcohol. They do allow you to bring pets as long as they are leashed and under control at all times. They allow outside food to be brought it but only with the purchase of a $5 per vehicle food permit. Current admission for the Ruskin Family Drive-in is an extremely reasonable $7 for adults, $2 for kids with kids 4 and under being free. And they only accept cash, so leave the credit cards at homes.
