I.S.S Film Review

by Released : 2024-01-26

I.S.S is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and takes place on the International Space Station. The film stars Ariana Debose fresh off an Academy Award for West Side Story, but her character's lack of development waste a solid performance.

The film's greatest strength lies in its premise. With the crew safe aboard the ISS a nuclear war breaks out between the United States and Russia. Meanwhile, aboard the ISS the US and Russian members of the crew receive orders from their superiors on Earth to take control of the station.  This initial setup is squandered by uninteresting characters, a rushed and boring plot, and overall a mediocre film that wasted its premise. I’d skip this one and wait for home video if you like space films.
