The single-screen Cassidy had been built in 1953, and
was acquired by new owners in 1970, who operated
the picture show here for 22 years. The old screen
went dark in '92 and was finally taken down in 1998.
The second generation of the same family which
had run it until it closed now run a flea market &
swapmeet here on Sundays (7am-3pm) April --
October (about 90 minutes north of Victoria).
